Pattern #3016
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dense fabrics made of natural or mixed fibers (corduroy, suiting fabric). Also needed: fusible interlining; lining fabric; zipper, zipper for inner pocket, snaps.

CUTTER'S MUST

If the patterns have a double contour, they include SEAM ALLOWANCES. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the NOTCHES - they must match!

  1. Fuse interlining to the main part, pocket, bottom, and strap.
  2. Place the pocket and pocket lining right sides together and stitch along the top edge. Turn the lining to the wrong side. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the edge along the top edge. Attach snaps according to markings. Place the pocket on the main part and topstitch according to markings.
  3. Attach the main parts to the bottom, aligning the contours of the pockets, main part, and bottom. Fold the seam allowances towards the bottom and topstitch at 0.5 cm.
  4. Mark the pocket placement on the lining. Fuse interlining to the zipper area. Cut an opening along the pocket entrance, making diagonal cuts 1 – 1.5 cm from the end of the pocket. Fold the seam allowances inwards. Place the zipper under the edges of the pocket opening so that the teeth are visible. Topstitch the pocket opening close to the edge at 0.2 cm. Attach the large pocket lining to the upper zipper tape, and the small pocket lining to the lower zipper tape. Stitch the lining edges.
  5. Attach the bottom lining to the main part linings, leaving an opening in one of the seams for turning later.
  6. Place the bag and lining right sides together and stitch along the top edge, inserting the zipper.
  7. Turn the bag right side out through the opening. Stitch the opening closed.
  8. Straighten the top ends of the bag so that the zipper is in the middle.
  9. Place the strap pieces right sides together and stitch along the long sides. Turn the strap right side out and press.
  10. Fold the seam allowances of the short sides of the strap inwards. "Put on" the strap onto the bag, straighten and topstitch (the ends of the zipper should be inside the handle).
