Sleeveless Gathered Yoke Top

CUTTER'S MUST

• From main fabric:
  • Back - 1 piece on fold
  • Front - 1 piece on fold
  • Facing - 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

1. Interface the facing with fusible interfacing.
2. Stitch the side seams, press seam allowances towards the back, and overcast.
3. Cut a bias tape from the main fabric, 4 cm wide and equal to the armhole length. Press the bias tape in half lengthwise, right side out, align with the armhole edge, and stitch. Fold the bias tape to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold.
4. Stitch the center seams of the facings. Press seam allowances open. Place facings right sides together and stitch the neckline. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn facings right side out, and press.
5. Along the upper edge of the back and front, sew gathering stitches with loosened upper thread and gather.
6. Attach the outer facing to the upper edge of the front and back, clip seam allowances and press towards the facing. Press the remaining raw lower edge of the facing to the wrong side.
7. Press the seam allowance of the lower edge of the inner facing to the wrong side and topstitch into the facing attachment seam, simultaneously stitching the facings together.
8. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
9. Sew decorative buttons onto the front facing.
