Tech. Description

Loose-fitting, straight-cut blouse with front and back yokes, dropped shoulder line, long sleeves, a slit along the center back seam, and a button and loop closure.

Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: soft blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: 1 button.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 2 cm; sleeve hem allowance – 1.2 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back yoke - 2 pieces
    • Back - 1 piece on fold
    • Front yoke - 2 pieces
    • Front - 1 piece on fold
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Finish the center edges of the back yoke separately. Stitch the center seam of the back yoke from the slit mark to the bottom. Press seams open. Stitch a reinforcing line along the slit.
  2. Attach the yoke to the back.
  3. Along the upper edge of the front, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the yoke to the front. Fold the yoke along the fold line and topstitch from the right side 1 cm from the edge of the yoke fold.
  4. Stitch shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and finish edges.
  5. Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 10 cm long for the loop. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and straighten the rouleau. Adjust the loop length. Sew the loop to the left side of the back yoke.
  6. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings, press allowances open. Finish the outer edge. Place the facing on the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves, turn facings to the wrong side and press. Secure to shoulder seams and center back edges.
  7. Finish the lower edges of the sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and finish edges.
  8. Set sleeves into armholes, matching marks. Press allowances and finish edges.
  9. Finish the garment hem, fold inwards and topstitch.
  10. Sew the button to the right side of the back yoke.
