CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: All seam allowances – 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! ATTENTION! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side.
- From main fabric:
- Back - 1 piece with fold
- Right front - 1 piece
- Left front - 1 piece
- Collar - 2 pieces
- Cuff – 4 pieces
- Placket – 1 piece
- Collar stand – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Collar - 1 piece
- Placket – 1 piece
- Collar stand – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces. Fuse the area of the integrated placket for buttonholes.
- Processing the left front edge: Press the placket in half lengthwise, right side out. Stitch the placket to the left front, overcast the allowances and press them towards the main piece. Processing the right front edge: Overcast the outer edge. Press the placket to the wrong side along line 3. Overcast the buttonholes. Press the placket along the front edge line, aligning it with line 3. Stitch a decorative – securing seam along the front edge the width of the placket.
- Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Place the upper collar and lower collar right sides together, stitch the ends and the outer edge of the collar. Trim seams, turn the collar right side out, shape and press. Place collar stand pieces right sides together, insert the finished collar between them, align notches and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the collar stand. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked line of the collar stand attachment seam. Turn the finished collar right side out and press. Stitch the upper collar stand with the collar to the neckline, turn under the open edge of the lower collar stand and topstitch into the seam of the upper collar stand attachment.
- Stitch cuffs into a loop, press allowances open. Place cuffs in pairs right sides together and stitch the lower edge. Clip allowances, turn right side out and press.
- Stitch side seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Stitch cuffs to the sleeve, overcast allowances and press them towards the main piece.
- Press the bottom hem of the garment to the wrong side by 1 cm, then by another 1 cm and topstitch.
- Sew buttons onto the left front edge.
