Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers in contrasting colors. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interlining.

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Interface the insert piece with fusible interlining.
  2. Stitch the center front seam, press seam allowances to the left side, overcast. Attach the outer front insert to the front, press seam allowances towards the insert.
  3. Overcast the outer edge of the inner insert. Place the inserts right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip seam allowances, turn the inner insert to the wrong side. Topstitch into the seam of attaching the outer insert.
  4. Stitch shoulder seams, clipping the front at the corner. Press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
  5. Stitch the collar stand seam, placing pieces right sides together, press seam allowances open. Form the collar stand by folding the piece along the fold line. Attach the outer side to the neckline, clip seam allowances and press towards the collar stand. Turn the seam allowance of the inner collar stand inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam of the outer one.
  6. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise right side out and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Clip seam allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
  7. Stitch side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
  8. Overcast the hem allowance, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
