Sewing Instructions

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.

  1. Stitch the center front seam, press seam allowances to the left side, serge. Form and secure the inverted pleats.
  2. Serge the vertical and bottom edges of the lower front part, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Serge the bottom and bottom shaped edges of the front, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  3. Place the front piece wrong side up onto the right side of the lower front part. Stitch the horizontal underarm seam, press seam allowances and serge. Smooth out the front, secure along the side edge.
  4. Stitch shoulder and side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  5. Stitch the neckline facing into a loop, fold lengthwise in half and stitch into the neckline, slightly stretching the facing. The seam is located near the left shoulder seam. Serge seam allowances and press towards the main garment.
  6. Stitch the sleeve seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press seam allowances and serge.
  7. Serge the hem allowance of the back bottom and sleeve bottom, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
