Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom edge of the garment – 2 cm. Attention! First of all, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 2 pieces
- Front – 1 piece (cut on fold)
- Front Sleeve – 4 pieces
- Back Sleeve – 4 pieces
- Front Neckline Facing – 1 piece
- Back Neckline Facing – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Front Neckline Facing – 1 piece
- Back Neckline Facing – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the Front Neckline Facing and Back Neckline Facings.
- Stitch the darts on the Back, press the dart intakes towards the center. Overlock the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the hem, press allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
- Stitch the darts on the Front, press the dart intakes upwards.
- Stitch shoulder and side seams. Press allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the Back Neckline Facings and Front Neckline Facing, press allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place facings and garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge of the back and front. Clip allowances at curves, turn facing to the wrong side, smooth out, and press. Secure to the garment at shoulder seams and zipper tape.
- Each sleeve has an outer and an inner layer, each made of a Front Sleeve and a Back Sleeve. For each layer, stitch the underarm seam joining the Front Sleeve and Back Sleeve, press allowances open. Stitch the upper sleeve seam from the sleeve cap down to the horizontal mark. Place the outer and inner sleeves right sides together in pairs and stitch the shaped lower edge, starting and ending at the horizontal mark. Clip the allowances at the curves, turn and press the lower edge. Baste the outer and inner sleeves together along the sleeve cap and then handle them as one piece.
- Along the sleeve cap, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Set the sleeve into the armhole. Overlock and press allowances.
- Overlock the hem allowance of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Sew decorative buttons onto the sleeves.
