Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, 3 buttons. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the back and the left front part – 2.0 cm. Hem allowance for the vertical edge of the left front part – 2.0 cm. Hem allowance for the sleeve hem – 2.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! ATTENTION! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side!

CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • Back yoke – 1 piece with fold
    • Back – 1 piece with fold
    • Left front part – 1 piece
    • Right front part – 1 piece
    • Front insert – 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces
    • Collar – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve - 2 pieces
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Right front part facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Collar stand – 1 piece
    • Collar – 1 piece
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Right front part facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the yoke to the back, press seam allowances downwards, serge.
  3. Press the plackets in half lengthwise, right side out. Place the plackets on the right front piece, wrong side to right side, and stitch. Make diagonal cuts on the front piece at the corners. Turn the plackets to the wrong side and smooth out. Place the right placket over the left, secure the bottom corner with a double stitch from the wrong side. Press and serge seam allowances.
  4. Fold the right front part with its facing, and stitch the front and bottom edges. Clip seam allowances, trim corners, turn the piece right side out, smooth, and press. Topstitch along the edge at 0.7 cm.
  5. Press the vertical edge of the left front part 1 cm to the wrong side, then another 1 cm, and topstitch. Press the bottom edge of the left front part 1 cm to the wrong side, then another 1 cm, and topstitch.
  6. Fold the insert pieces right sides together and stitch the front and bottom edges. Trim seam allowances at the corner, turn the piece right side out, smooth, and press. Topstitch along the edge at 0.7 cm.
  7. Fold the left front part with the right front part facing right sides together, insert the front insert between the pieces, and stitch. Press and serge seam allowances. Topstitch the right front part facing to the front part along the marked line.
  8. Stitch shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back, serge.
  9. Fold the upper collar with the undercollar right sides together, stitch the ends and the outer edge. Clip seam allowances at curves, trim corners. Turn the collar right side out, smooth, and press. Fold the collar stand pieces right sides together, insert the prepared collar between them, align notches, and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the stand. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked line of the collar stand insertion seam. Turn the finished collar right side out and press. Stitch the upper collar stand with the collar to the neckline, turn under the open edge of the lower collar stand, and topstitch into the seam of the upper collar stand insertion.
  10. Stitch sleeves to the garment, press seam allowances towards the sleeve and serge.
  11. Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the sleeve seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  12. Press the bottom edge of the back 1 cm to the wrong side, then another 1 cm, and topstitch. Serge the bottom edge of the sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  13. Make buttonholes on the placket and collar stand, and sew on buttons accordingly.
