Before cutting your fabric, print and lay out the paper patterns according to your fabric width (90–150 cm) to determine required yardage.
Remember to account for paired and symmetrical pieces.
When sewing, pay close attention to all notches — they must match precisely to ensure correct construction and fit.
Apply fusible interfacing to the Collar, Stand Collar and Cuffs.
Apply fusible interfacing to the placket cut in one with the Front.
Attach the Back Yoke to the Back.
Overlock the seam allowances and press upward.
Overlock the upper edge of the Pocket, turn the allowance to the wrong side and topstitch.
Turn the side and lower allowances of the pocket to the wrong side and press.
Place the Pocket onto the left Front and topstitch according to the markings.
Stitch the shoulder seams, press the seam allowances toward the Back and overlock.
Place the upper and under Collar pieces right sides together, stitch the ends and outer edge.
Trim seam allowances, turn the collar right side out, shape and press.
Place the Stand Collar pieces right sides together, insert the prepared Collar between them, match notches and stitch, simultaneously finishing the ends of the stand.
Start and finish stitching exactly at the marked collar stand attachment line.
Turn the collar assembly right side out and press.
Attach the outer Stand Collar with the collar to the neckline.
Turn under the open edge of the inner stand and stitch it down over the attachment seam.
Make the slit on the Sleeve along the marked line.
Cut a bias strip from the main fabric 4 cm wide and with a length equal to double the slit length plus 4 cm.
Fold the strip lengthwise and press.
Fold the outer edges toward the center and press.
Bind the sleeve slit with the bias strip.
Form and secure the pleat on the sleeve.
The pleat is directed away from the closure.
Set the sleeves into the armholes, press the seam allowances and overlock.
Attach the Pocket Bag pieces to the Front and Back, overlock seam allowances.
Stitch the sleeve seam together with the side seam and the pocket bag edges.
Press seam allowances toward the Back and overlock.
Fold the Cuff pieces lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the side edges.
Start and finish stitching exactly at the marked cuff attachment line.
Turn the cuff right side out and press.
Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve.
Turn under the inner edge of the cuff and stitch it down over the attachment seam.
Turn the lower edge of the garment to the inside by 1 cm, then again by 1 cm and topstitch.
Make buttonholes on the Right Front, sew buttons on the Left Front.
