Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: well-draping blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 1 button; elastic tape 1 cm wide. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for the garment and sleeve – 1.5 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

  • Center back part - 2 pieces
  • Side back part - 2 pieces
  • Center front part - 1 piece

  • Flounce – 2 pieces
  • Sleeve – 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
2. Overlock the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the slit mark to the bottom. Press seam allowances open. Press the slit.
3. Stitch the shoulder seams of the center back part and the center front part. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
4. Stitch the shoulder seams of the side parts. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
5. Overlock, fold, and topstitch the outer edge of the flounce. Alternatively, you can finish the edges with bias binding or a French seam. For this, you need to trim the seam allowance. Along the inner edge of the flounce, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather.
6. Stitch the princess seams of the front and back simultaneously, inserting the flounce into the seam. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the center.
7. Stitch the side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
8. Stitch the shoulder seams of the back and front neckline facings, press seam allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place the facings right sides together with the garment and stitch the neckline. Clip seam allowances, turn facings to the wrong side, and press the seams. Hand-stitch the facing to the shoulder seams.
9. Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 10 cm long for the loop. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim seam allowances close to the stitching, turn the loop right side out, and shape. Adjust the loop length. Insert the loop between the back and the facing, hand-stitch in place.
10. Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back. Overlock the sleeve hem allowance, fold to the wrong side, and topstitch to create a casing. Thread elastic tape through the casing, adjust the length, and stitch the ends.
11. Set in the sleeves into the armholes, press and overlock seam allowances.
12. Overlock the garment hem, fold inwards, and topstitch.
13. Sew on the button.
