Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; 11 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all allowances – 1.0 cm, bottom hem allowance – 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back part – 1 piece on fold
    • Lower back part - 1 piece on fold
    • Upper front part - 2 pieces
    • Lower front part – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve - 2 pieces
    • Placket - 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 1 piece
    • Cuff – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch darts on the upper front pieces, press allowances upwards.
  3. Stitch side seams of the upper garment part, press allowances open, serge. Stitch side seams of the lower garment part, press allowances open, serge.
  4. Along the upper edge of the lower back and front parts, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the lower part of the garment to the upper part, press allowances, serge. Form a pleat from the upper part and topstitch it from the right side into the seam of attaching the lower part.
  5. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  6. Fold the placket piece lengthwise in the middle with wrong sides together and press. Attach the outer side of the placket to the front, press allowances towards the placket. Turn in the allowance of the inner side of the placket and topstitch into the attaching seam.
  7. Fold the collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch the upper and side edges. Start and end stitching strictly at the marked collar stand insertion seam line. Turn the piece right side out, straighten and press. Attach the outer side of the collar stand to the neckline, turn in the allowance of the inner collar stand and topstitch into the insertion seam.
  8. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Attach sleeves into armholes according to notches, press allowances and serge.
  9. Stitch the cuff piece into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the cuff lengthwise in the middle with wrong sides together and press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the bottom of the sleeve, press allowances towards the cuff. Turn in the allowance of the inner side and topstitch into the attaching seam.
  10. Serge the bottom hem allowance, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  11. Make buttonholes on the right placket and collar stand. Sew on buttons according to buttonholes.
