Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers with elastane, or knitwear with low stretch. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; 1 button.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve bottom – 2.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Back - 2 pieces
- Front - 1 piece on fold
- Sleeve - 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Stitch darts on the front piece, press seam allowances upwards.
- Serge the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the slit mark to the bottom, press seam allowances open.
- Stitch shoulder and side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch shoulder seams of back and front neckline facings, press seam allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place facings right sides together with the garment and stitch the neckline. Clip seam allowances, turn facings to the wrong side and press. Hand stitch the facing to the shoulder seam allowances.
- Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 10 cm long for the loop. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim seam allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and shape the loop. Adjust the loop length. Insert the loop between the back and the facing, hand stitch in place.
- Create and secure pleats along the sleeve cap. Stitch the sleeve seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press seam allowances and serge.
- Serge the hem allowance of the garment bottom and sleeve bottom, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Sew on the button.
