Sewing Instructions

Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  3. Fold collar pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer edges. Trim seams at corners, clip at notches. Turn collar right side out, shape, and press.
  4. Attach collar to the neckline of the main garment. Serge allowances, press towards the main garment, and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
  5. Attach sleeve to the main garment, press allowances towards the main garment and serge.
  6. Serge side seams and sleeve seams separately. Stitch sleeve seams and side seams in one continuous seam up to the mark of the side slit. Press allowances open, pressing the slits. Topstitch 0.1 cm along the edges of the slits for decorative and reinforcing purposes.
  7. Stitch cuff into a loop. Fold cuff in half lengthwise and press. Attach cuff to the bottom of the sleeve, stretching it slightly. Serge allowance and press upwards.
  8. Serge the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  9. Fold waistband in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the contour, leaving an opening for turning. Turn waistband right side out, shape, press. Close the opening.
