CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seam allowances – 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment – 2.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back - 1 piece with fold
- Front - 1 piece with fold
- Collar - 2 pieces
- Lapel - 4 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Bridge – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Collar - 1 piece
- Lapel - 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Fold collar pieces right sides together and stitch along the ends and outer edge. Clip allowances at the mark, turn collar right side out, straighten, and press.
- Fold lapel pieces right sides together, insert the collar between them, and stitch along the break line, lapel, and tie around the perimeter up to the mark. Clip allowances at the mark, turn lapel right side out, straighten, and press. Stitch collar into the neckline.
- Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings, press allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Fold facing with garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves, turn facings to the wrong side and press. Secure facings to shoulder seams.
- Fold the bridge piece crosswise right side in and stitch. Turn the piece right side out, press, positioning the seam on the wrong side. Serge side edges. Press side edges to the wrong side and topstitch onto the front according to markings. Thread collar ends through the bridge.
- Stitch side seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch cuff into a ring, press allowances open. Fold cuff lengthwise in half right side out and press. Fold cuff with the wrong side of the armhole and stitch, serge allowances. Turn cuff to the main piece.
- Press the bottom of the garment to the wrong side by 1 cm, then another 1 cm, and topstitch.
