Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers with elastane. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 4 buttons. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

CUTTER'S MUST

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Back – 2 pieces
  • Front – 2 pieces
  • Sleeve – 2 pieces
  • Cuff – 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Cuff – 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
2. Stitch darts on the back pieces. Press dart allowances towards the center. Stitch the center back seam. Overlock the allowance and press it to the left side.
3. On the front shoulder edges, create and secure pleats (depths directed towards the center). Stitch shoulder seams, press towards the back, overlock.
4. Stitch the stand seam, press allowances open. Attach the stand to the neckline, clipping at the corners, press allowances towards the stand. Clip the allowance at the neckline notch. Stitch the center front seam. Overlock allowances and press to the left side.
5. Clip the allowance at the neckline notch on the front neckline facing pieces. Stitch the center seam of the facing. Press allowances open.
6. Stitch the stand seam of the front neckline facing, press allowances open. Stitch the shoulder seams of the back and front neckline facings, press allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Attach the stand to the neckline of the facings, press allowances upwards. Place facings and garment right sides together and stitch the neckline and stand edges. Clip allowances at curves, turn facings to the wrong side and press. Secure the stand attachment seams together. Secure the shoulder seams of the facings to the shoulder seams of the garment.
7. Stitch side seams, press allowances towards the back, overlock.
8. Overlock sleeve edges separately. Stitch the sleeve seam from the armhole to the slit mark, press allowances open. Topstitch the slit 0.1 cm from the fold. Along the lower edge of the sleeve, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and overlock.
9. Fold cuff pieces lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch the side edges. Start and end stitching precisely at the marked cuff attachment seam line. Turn the piece right side out, press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold the allowance of the inner side of the cuff inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer cuff attachment.
10. Press the bottom edge of the garment to the wrong side by 1 cm, then by 1 cm and topstitch.
11. Overlock buttonholes and sew buttons on the cuffs.
