Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: soft blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: 1 button.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 2.5 cm; all other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back yoke - 2 pieces
- Back - 1 piece with fold
- Front yoke - 1 piece
- Front - 1 piece with fold
- Upper sleeve part – 2 pieces
- Lower sleeve part – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Serge the center edges of the back yoke separately. Stitch the center seam of the back yoke from the slit mark to the bottom. Press seam allowances open. Stitch a reinforcing line along the slit.
- Stitch the shoulder edges of the back and front yokes, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 10 cm long for the loop. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim seam allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and straighten the loop. Adjust the loop length. Sew the loop to the left side of the back yoke.
- Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the neckline length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, and press. Place the binding with the neckline edge on the wrong! side, leaving tails, and stitch. Fold the binding to the right! side, clip the seams, and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam. Alternatively, the neckline can be finished with bias binding (binding length is indicated on the back pattern piece). In this case, the neckline seam allowance should be trimmed to 0 cm.
- Along the upper edges of the back and front, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the back and front to the yokes, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
- Stitch the side edges, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Serge the lower edges of the upper and lower sleeve parts, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Along the sleeve cap of the upper sleeve part, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Place the upper sleeve part over the lower part, matching notches, and secure along the sleeve cap. Stitch the sleeve seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes, matching marks. Press and serge seam allowances.
- Fold the bottom hem of the garment inwards by 1 cm, then by 1.5 cm, and topstitch.
- Sew the button to the right side of the back yoke.
