Fabric recommendations: suiting fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: lining fabric; invisible zipper.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance - 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 2 pieces
- Front – 2 pieces
- Collar – 2 pieces
- From lining fabric:
- Back – 2 pieces
- Front – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch darts on back pieces. Trim seam allowances and press towards the center. Stitch the center back seam from the top to the zipper mark. Press seam allowance open. Insert the zipper. (The slider of the closed zipper should be at the bottom).
- Stitch darts on front pieces. Trim seam allowances and press towards the center. Stitch the center front seam. Press seam allowances open.
- Stitch shoulder and side seams. Press seam allowances open.
- Fold collars right sides together and stitch the outer edge. Turn collars right side out and press. Overlap the left collar piece over the right and secure along the bottom edges. Stitch the collar to the neckline, clipping seam allowances at the corner. Press seam allowances towards the main piece.
- Press the bottom of the vest to the wrong side.
- Stitch lining seams similarly to the main fabric seams, leaving an opening in the left side seam. Attach lining to the neckline. Finish the armhole in two steps: first the front armhole, then the back armhole. Attach lining to the bottom of the vest. Attach lining to the zipper tape.
- Turn the vest right side out through the technical opening. Sew the opening closed.
