Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: medium-stretch knit fabric made from natural or blended fibers in two contrasting or complementary colors. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing.
CUTTER'S MUST
SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Right back – 1 piece
- Right front – 1 piece
- Right neckline facing – 1 piece
- From main fabric 1:
- Left back – 1 piece
- Left front – 1 piece
- Left neckline facing – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Neckline facing – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce pieces with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch front pieces. Overlock allowance and press to the left side.
- Stitch back pieces. Overlock allowance and press to the left side.
- Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Fold neckline facing pieces in half lengthwise, right sides out, and press. On the front and back: place the corner of the right facing over the corner of the left facing, align and secure the edges. Stitch the facing to the neckline, clipping allowances at the corners. Overlock allowance and press towards the main garment.
- Stitch the side seam simultaneously with the sleeve seam, press allowances and overlock.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
