A knee-length women's pencil skirt with an asymmetric front: the right front panel has five diagonal pleats, folded upwards, that run into an off-centre vertical placket with seven buttons. Straight waistband with a button, invisible zipper and darts at the back.
Silhouette: Fitted pencil shape, narrowing slightly towards the hem.
Length: Knee length.
Waist: Straight interfaced waistband, fastened at the centre back with one button and buttonhole.
Front: Cut as two different panels. The right front panel carries diagonal pleats, folded upwards and caught into the placket seam. The left front skirt has a two-layer left placket stitched to it, lying under the right placket. The right placket is folded in half lengthwise and stitched between the two front panels; its buttons are sewn through both plackets, so they are decorative.
Closure: Invisible zipper in the centre back seam with a button on the waistband above it.
Back: Two panels with a centre back seam and one dart on each side.
Finishing: Side seams pressed towards the back and overlocked; hem allowance of 3 cm on the panels and plackets, overlocked, turned up and topstitched.
Intermediate. Pleats folded and basted to match the placket seam, a layered placket joined between two front panels, an invisible zipper and a waistband with finished ends and a buttonhole.
Soft suiting fabrics from natural or blended fibres.
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns are without seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom edge of the front panels, back, and plackets – 3 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need.
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match! Attention! Markings on patterns are made on the right side!
