Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: suiting fabrics made of natural or blended fibers in contrasting or matching colors. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; shoulder pads; sew-on hooks.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for front, back, and sleeve bottom - 3.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 2 pieces
    • Side front – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
  • From main fabric 1:
    • Center front – 4 pieces
    • Bridge – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Center front – 2 pieces
    • Bridge – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the pieces. Along the neckline of the front, apply an additional fusible stay tape.
  2. Stitch the dart on the back. Press the dart depth towards the center. Stitch, serge, and press open the center back seam.
  3. Stitch shoulder and side seams. Serge allowances and press towards the back.
  4. Fold the bridge along the marked line right sides together and stitch the bottom and right sides. Trim allowances, turn right side out, and press.
  5. Stitch the center edge of the one-piece collar. Press allowance open. Fold the center front pieces right sides together and stitch the front edge, collar, and bottom corner, inserting the unstitched side of the bridge (on the left side). Clip allowances, turn right side out, and press.
  6. Attach the center front to the side front, inserting the one-piece collar into the back. Serge allowance and press towards the side front.
  7. Stitch the sleeve seam. Serge allowance and press towards the back. Set sleeves into armholes according to notches, easing the sleeve cap at the top. Attach shoulder pads.
  8. Serge the hem allowance of the bottom and sleeve, fold to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  9. Sew hooks onto the bridge. Sew loops onto the center front.
