Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: thin suiting fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, concealed zipper, 2 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

CUTTER'S MUST

    • Back panel – 2 pieces
    • Front panel – 2 pieces
    • Front yoke - 2 pieces
    • Back yoke – 4 pieces
    • Side panel – 2 pieces
    • Pocket bag – 2 pieces
    • Trim – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back yoke – 2 pieces
    • Front yoke - 1 piece
    • Trim – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces. Fuse interfacing to the pocket opening on the front panel.
  2. Stitch the back yoke to the back panel, press seam allowances upwards. Finish the raw edges of the center back panel separately on each piece. Stitch the center seam from the zipper mark to the hem. Press seam allowances open. Insert the zipper.
  3. Fold the trim piece in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the short edge. Turn the piece right side out, straighten, and press.
  4. Place the pocket bag on the front panel, right sides together, and stitch the pocket opening, inserting the trim. Clip the seam allowances, turn the pocket bag to the wrong side, and press. Place the front panel on the side panel and stitch the edges of the pocket bags, finish the raw edges. Secure the pieces at the side and upper edges.
  5. Stitch the center seam of the front panel, press seam allowances to the left side and finish the raw edges. Stitch the front yoke to the front panel, press seam allowances upwards.
  6. Stitch the side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and finish the raw edges.
  7. Stitch the side seams of the inner yokes, press seam allowances open. Finish the lower edge. Place the yoke on the skirt, right sides together, and stitch the upper edge. Topstitch the seam allowances to the yoke 0.2 cm from the stitching line. Fold the yoke to the wrong side, and press. Fold under the center edges and stitch to the zipper tape. Topstitch the yoke into the seam of the outer yoke attachment.
  8. Finish the lower edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  9. Sew on buttons, securing the trim on the front panel.
