Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Mark the pocket placement on the side front panel. Press the welt piece lengthwise in half, wrong sides together. Stitch the small pocket bag to the inner side of the welt. Stitch the welt to the panel along the lower pocket marking line. Stitch the large pocket bag to the panel along the upper pocket marking line. The ends of the stitching should finish at the short marking lines. Cut the pocket opening. Make diagonal cuts 1-1.5 cm from the end of the pocket. Turn the welt and large pocket bag to the wrong side through the opening. Secure the ends of the pocket from the wrong side with a double backstitch at the base of the corners. Stitch the pocket bag edges, overcast.
- Stitch the side front panels to the central front panel, press seam allowances towards the center, overcast.
- Punch eyelets on the front panel.
- Overcast the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the hem, press seam allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
- Fold the waistband lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch along the long and short diagonal sides. Trim seam allowances at the corners, turn the waistband right side out, shape, and press. Stitch the side seams, inserting the waistband pieces, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Stitch the side edges of the facings, press seam allowances open. Overcast the lower edge. Place the facing and skirt right sides together and stitch the upper edge. Topstitch the seam allowances to the facing 0.2 cm from the stitching line. Fold the facing to the wrong side, press. Fold the center edges and sew to the zipper tape.
- Form pleats on the front skirt panel (depths directed away from the center). Stitch down the pleat depth on the inside for 3-4 cm from the top. Thread the waistband through the eyelets.
- Overcast the lower edge of the skirt, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
