Fabric recommendations: suiting fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: lining fabric, fusible interfacing, 7 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 3 cm, lining bottom edge allowance – 2 cm, belt loop side edges - 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED.

• From main fabric:
  • Back panel – 2 pieces
  • Front panel – 2 pieces
  • Front facing - 2 pieces
  • Back facing – 2 pieces
  • Waistband – 1 piece
  • Belt loop – 1 piece
• From lining fabric:
  • Front lining – 2 pieces
  • Back lining – 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Back facing – 2 pieces
  • Front facing - 2 pieces
  • Waistband – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

1. Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing. Interface the self-facing placket of the front panel.
2. Stitch the darts on the back skirt panels. Press the dart folds towards the center. Overlock the center edges of the back panel separately on each piece, simultaneously overlocking the vent. Stitch the center seam from the top to the edge of the vent. Press the seam allowances open, press the vent allowances towards the left side seam. Press the right side of the vent by 1 cm and topstitch. Secure the vent allowances with machine stitching.
3. Stitch the darts on the front skirt panel. Press the dart folds towards the center.
4. Overlock one long edge of the belt loop. Fold the belt loop into three layers and topstitch along the long sides. Cut the belt loop into 4 pieces. Topstitch the belt loops onto the darts at waist level.
5. Stitch the side seams, press the allowances towards the back and overlock.
6. Stitch the darts on the lining. Press the dart folds towards the center. Stitch the side seams of the lining. Overlock the allowances and press towards the back. Stitch the center back seams. Press the allowance to the left side. Fold the bottom hem allowance twice by 1 cm and topstitch.
7. Stitch the side seams of the facings. Press the allowances open. Attach the lining to the facings. Press the allowance downwards. Place the facing with the skirt right sides together and stitch the center edges of the front panel. Overlock the allowances and press towards the lining. Stitch the upper edge of the skirt and the self-facing placket. Clip the allowances at curves, trim at corners. Turn the facing and lining to the wrong side, straighten, and press. Press the center edges of the front panel. Topstitch on the right side, securing the inner side of the self-facing placket.
8. Attach the lining to the top along the side and center back seams with hand stitches.
9. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
10. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise and stitch along the long and short sides, leaving an opening for turning. Trim the allowances at corners, turn to the right side and press. Close the opening.
11. Overlock buttonholes and sew on buttons. Thread the waistband through the belt loops.
