Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the Back Facing, Front Facing and Off-Set Welt pieces.
  2. Mark the pocket placement on the Front Side Skirt. Press the Off-Set Welt in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Stitch the Smaller Pocket Bag to the inner side of the welt. Stitch the welt to the skirt along the lower pocket marking line. Stitch the Bigger Pocket Bag to the skirt along the upper pocket marking line. The ends of the stitching should finish at the short marking lines. Cut the pocket opening. Make diagonal cuts 1-1.5 cm from the end of the pocket. Turn the welt and the Bigger Pocket Bag to the wrong side through the opening. Secure the ends of the pocket from the wrong side with a double backstitch at the base of the corners. Stitch the pocket bags together and overlock the edges.
  3. Stitch the Front Side Skirt panels to the Front Central Skirt, press seam allowances towards the center, overlock.
  4. Set the eyelets on the front as marked.
  5. Overlock the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the hem, press seam allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
  6. Fold each Waistband (tie belt) piece in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long side and the slanted short end. Trim the seam allowances at the corners, turn right side out, shape and press. Stitch the side seams, inserting the open ends of the tie belt pieces, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
  7. Stitch the side edges of the facings, press seam allowances open. Overlock the lower edge. Place the facing and skirt right sides together and stitch the upper edge. Understitch the seam allowances to the facing 0.2 cm from the seam. Fold the facing to the wrong side, press. Fold under the center back edges and sew them to the zipper tape.
  8. Fold the pleats on the front skirt (folds facing away from the center). Stitch the pleats on the inside for 3–4 cm from the top. Thread the tie belt through the eyelets.
  9. Overlock the lower edge of the skirt, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
