Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing, 10 buttons, concealed zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can range from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back part – 2 pieces
    • Center back part – 2 pieces
    • Side back part – 2 pieces
    • Upper front part – 1 piece on fold
    • Center front part – 1 piece on fold
    • Side front part – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the back princess seams, press allowances towards the center and serge. Attach the upper back part to the lower part, press allowances upwards and serge.
  3. Serge the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the hem, press allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
  4. Stitch the front princess seams, press allowances towards the center and serge. Along the lower edge of the upper front part, stitch with a loosened top thread and gather. Stitch the upper and lower front parts, press allowances upwards and serge.
  5. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  6. Stitch the shoulder seams of the back and front neckline facings, press allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facings with the garment right sides together and stitch the back and front neckline edges. Clip allowances at curves, turn facings to the wrong side, smooth out, and press. Secure to the garment at the shoulder seams.
  7. Along the lower edge of the sleeve, stitch with a loosened top thread and gather. Serge the sleeve edges separately. Stitch the sleeve seam from the armhole to the slit mark, press allowances open. Topstitch the slit 0.1 cm from the fold. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press allowances and serge.
  8. Place the cuff pieces right sides together and stitch the side and lower edges. Start and end stitching precisely at the marked cuff attachment line. Turn the piece right side out, press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold the allowance of the inner side of the cuff inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer cuff attachment.
  9. Serge the hem allowance of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  10. Make buttonholes and sew buttons on the cuffs. Sew decorative buttons on the front.
