- From fusible interfacing:
- Right facing - 1 piece
- Left facing - 1 piece
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Stitch darts on back and front pieces. Press waist dart allowances towards the center, bust darts upwards.
- Stitch the center back seam, press allowances to the left side and serge.
- Serge the outer edge of the facing. Place the facing on the front and stitch the lapel and front edge from the shoulder seam to the hem. Clip allowances at the shoulder seam, turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, and press.
- Serge the outer edge of the back neckline facing. Place the neckline facing on the back and stitch the neckline edge exactly to the marked shoulder seam line. Clip allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side, and press.
- Stitch shoulder seams, inserting the front between the back and the facing; press allowances towards the back and serge. Attach the facing to the center back seam.
- Stitch side seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and serge.
- Serge the hem of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
- Make buttonholes on the right front, sew buttons on the left front. Make a buttonhole and sew on the internal button.
