Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 8 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 1.5 cm, other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back yoke - 1 piece on fold
    • Back - 2 pieces
    • Front - 2 pieces
    • Front yoke – 2 pieces
    • Collar – 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces
    • Belt – 1 piece
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Placket – 2 pieces
    • Collar – 1 piece
    • Collar stand – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the center back seam. Overlock the allowance and press to the left. Attach the back yoke to the back. Overlock the allowance and press upwards.
  3. Attach the front yoke to the front. Overlock the allowance and press upwards. Stitch the center front seam. Overlock the allowance and press to the left.
  4. Fold the plackets in half lengthwise, right sides out, and press. Attach the plackets to the front along the long edge. Clip the allowance of the lower front part at the corner. Place the right placket over the left, attach the lower edge to the lower front part from the wrong side. Overlock the placket allowances along the contour.
  5. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, fold inwards, and topstitch.
  6. Stitch the side seams simultaneously with the sleeve seam. Press allowances towards the back and overlock. Stitch the shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
  7. Place the upper collar and lower collar right sides together. Stitch the ends and outer edge of the collar. Trim seams. Turn the collar right side out, shape, and press. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the edge. Place the collar stand pieces right sides together, insert the finished collar between them, align notches, and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the collar stand. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked collar stand attachment line. Turn the finished collar stand right side out and press. Attach the upper collar stand with the collar to the neckline, turn under the open edge of the lower collar stand, and topstitch into the seam of the upper collar stand attachment.
  8. Stitch the cuff seam, press allowance open. Fold the cuff into a loop right side out and press. Attach the cuff to the wrong side of the sleeve. Overlock the allowance. Turn the cuff to the right side and secure to the shoulder seam.
  9. Overlock buttonholes on the right placket and collar stand, sew buttons on the left.
  10. Fold the belt piece in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long and two short sides, leaving an opening for turning. Trim allowances at corners, turn the belt right side out, and press.
