Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics with elastane added, made from natural or blended fibers. Knitwear with a low degree of stretch, made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; concealed zipper.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). Attention! Markings on the patterns are on the right side!
- From main fabric:
- Upper back part - 2 pieces
- Lower back part - 2 pieces
- Upper front part - 1 piece with a fold
- Lower front part right - 1 piece
- Lower front part left - 1 piece
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 4 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 2 pieces
- Belt – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
- Cuff – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing. Interface the seam allowance area of the relief seam slit on the lower front part.
- Stitch the darts on the lower back parts, press the seam allowances towards the center. Attach the back neckline facing to the upper back part, press the seam allowances towards the facing. Stitch the upper and lower back parts, easing the upper part, press the seam allowances upwards and overcast.
- Overcast the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom, press the seam allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
- Overcast the relief seam edge of the lower front part separately. Stitch the relief seam from the waist to the slit mark, press the seam allowances open. Topstitch the slit 0.1 cm from the edge. Attach the front neckline facing to the upper front part, press the seam allowances towards the facing. Stitch the upper and lower front parts, press the seam allowances upwards and overcast.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams simultaneously with the sleeve seam, press the seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the facings, press the seam allowances open. Overcast the outer edge. Fold the dress with the facing right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip the seam allowances at curves, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Secure the facing to the shoulder seams and the zipper tape.
- Stitch the cuff into a loop, press the seam allowances open. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right side out. Attach the cuff to the wrong side of the sleeve, overcast the seam allowances. Turn the cuff to the right side.
- Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Fold the belt in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch, leaving an opening on the long side for turning. Turn the belt right side out, shape and press. Topstitch the belt around the perimeter 0.1 cm from the edge.
