Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Fold the plackets right sides together and stitch the outer edge. Turn right side out and press.
  3. Place the placket on the front piece, wrong side to right side, and stitch. Make diagonal cuts on the front piece at the corners. Turn the placket to the wrong side and smooth out. Overlap the right placket over the left. Secure the bottom corner with a double stitch from the wrong side. Overlock and press the seam allowances.
  4. Stitch the shoulder seams, press the seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
  5. Place the upper collar with the undercollar right sides together. Stitch the ends and the outer edge of the collar. Trim the seams. Turn the collar right side out, shape and press. Place the collar stand pieces right sides together, insert the finished collar between them, align the notches and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the collar stand. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked line of the collar stand attachment seam. Turn the finished collar right side out and press. Attach the upper collar stand with the collar to the neckline, turn under the open edge of the lower collar stand and topstitch into the seam of the upper collar stand attachment.
  6. Cut (or use ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, clip the seam allowances and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
  7. Stitch the side seams, press the seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
  8. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  9. Overlock the buttonholes and sew buttons onto the placket.
