CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • Back yoke - 1 piece
    • Back - 1 piece on fold
    • Front - 2 pieces
    • Flying front part – 1 piece
    • Collar - 2 pieces
    • Sleeve - 2 pieces
    • Cuff - 2 pieces
    • Belt - 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Collar - 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Interface the upper collar and the integrated placket with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch the back yoke to the back. Overcast the seam allowances and press them upwards.
  3. Press the placket allowance to the wrong side. Fold the integrated front placket to the right side and stitch the lower corner. Trim the seam allowance at the corner. Stitch the upper corner up to the mark, clip the seam allowance at the mark. Turn the placket to the wrong side. Topstitch the placket allowance along the marked line from the right side.
  4. Overcast the upper, middle, and lower edges of the flying part. Fold the allowances inwards and topstitch. Place the flying part onto the right front and secure it along the armhole edge and side edge. Then treat as one piece.
  5. Fold the belt piece lengthwise with right sides together and stitch along the long side and one short side. Turn the belt right side out and press. Overcast the short edge of the belt. Attach the belt to the flying part.
  6. Stitch the shoulder seams, press the allowances towards the back and overcast. Stitch the side seams, inserting the belt into the left side seam, press the allowances towards the back and overcast.
  7. Place the upper collar on top of the undercollar with right sides together. Stitch the ends and the outer edge of the collar. Trim the seams. Turn the collar right side out, shape it, and press.
  8. Attach the outer collar to the neckline, fold under the raw edge of the inner collar, and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  9. Attach the cuff to the bottom of the sleeve. Overcast the allowance and press it upwards. Stitch the sleeve seam, overcast the allowance and press it towards the back. Set the sleeves into the armholes. Overcast the allowances and press them towards the sleeve.
  10. Overcast the hem and sleeve allowances, fold them to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  11. Make buttonholes on the front. Sew on buttons according to the buttonholes.
