Blouse with Inverted Front Pleat and Shoulder Pleats

Introducing a versatile women's blouse pattern, distinguished by a graceful V-neckline, an inverted front pleat, and soft pleats at the shoulders that shape the silhouette.

When To Wear

This chic blouse is a perfect addition to any wardrobe, ideal for:

  • Smart Casual Settings: Paired with trousers or skirts for an effortlessly polished look.
  • Office & Professional Wear: a comfortable yet refined choice for the workplace.
  • Elegant Everyday: Elevating your daily style with thoughtful design details.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: a relaxed-fit top that gently skims the body, designed for comfortable wear.

Neckline: a clean V-neckline finished with neckline facings.

Front Details: Features an inverted pleat at the center front, stitched down for 5–6 cm below the V-neck and then released for soft drape and movement.

Sleeves: Short cap sleeves cut in one with the front and back; pleats on the shoulder seams, turned towards the neckline, add soft volume.

Back: a clean, unadorned back cut in one piece on the fold.

Hem: a subtly curved hemline allows for versatile styling, whether tucked in or worn untucked.

Closure: Pullover style with no fastenings, relying on the garment's relaxed fit for ease of wear.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. This pattern requires skills in working with pleats, precise neckline facing application, and accurate hemming.

Fabric Recommendations

Choose lightweight blouse fabrics that will drape well and highlight the pleat details:

  • Blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers

Additional Supplies

  • Fusible interfacing

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: hem and sleeve hem – 1.2 cm, other seams 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  • From main fabric:
    • Front – 1 piece (cut on fold)
    • Back – 1 piece (cut on fold)
    • Back Neckline Facing – 1 piece
