Gathered Button-Front Blouse with Yokes

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 6 buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve – 2 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Back yoke - 1 piece
  • Back - 1 piece on fold
  • Front - 2 pieces
  • Front yoke - 2 pieces
  • Sleeve – 2 pieces
  • Placket – 4 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Placket — 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the plackets.
2. Along the upper edge of the front, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the front yoke to the front. Press seam allowances upwards and overcast.
3. Attach the back yoke to the back. Overcast seam allowance and press upwards.
4. Stitch side and shoulder seams. Overcast seam allowances and press towards the back.
5. Stitch the center seam of the plackets. Press seam allowances open. Fold plackets right sides together and stitch the edges and neckline. Clip seam allowances, turn right side out, and press.
6. Attach the plackets to the front and back. Clip neckline seam allowances, overcast, and press towards the main piece.
7. Stitch the sleeve seam, overcast seam allowances, and press towards the back. Set sleeves into armholes, press seam allowances and overcast.
8. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, fold inwards, and topstitch.
9. Make buttonholes and sew buttons onto the plackets.
