Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, the patterns include seam allowances; if the contour is single, the patterns are without seam allowances. Seam allowances: Hem allowance – 1.5 cm. Other allowances – 1.0 cm. Attention! First of all, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Back - 1 piece on fold
- Right Front - 1 piece
- Left Front - 1 piece
- Front Facing - 2 pieces
- Collar Stand - 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Front Facing - 2 pieces
- Collar Stand - 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match! Attention! Markings are made on the right side!
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Stitch the outer collar stand to the back neckline, clip allowances, press towards the stand.
- Stitch bust darts, press allowances upwards. Create and secure pleats on the shoulder edge of the front (pleat depths directed towards the neckline).
- Finish the outer and lower edges of the front facings. Right Front: Place the front facing and front piece right sides together and stitch the neckline edge up to the mark. Clip allowances at the mark, turn the facing to the wrong side, press. Left Front: Place the front facing and front piece right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Turn the facing to the wrong side, press.
- Stitch the left and right front pieces along the vertical edge from the mark to the bottom, press and finish allowances. Lay the front piece flat in one layer and topstitch the right onto the left along the marked line, securing the lower edges of the front facings.
- Press the lower allowance of the inner collar stand to the wrong side. Place the inner collar stand and outer collar stand right sides together and stitch the upper edge precisely to the marked shoulder seam line. Clip allowances.
- Stitch the shoulder edges, placing them between the outer and inner collar stand. Press allowances towards the back, finish. Turn the pieces to the right side. Topstitch the inner collar stand into the seam of the outer collar stand.
- Finish the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Stitch the side edges, press allowances towards the back and finish.
- Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch, fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece.
