Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: SATIN, LACE FABRIC. Also needed: separating ZIPPER, metal or plastic BONING, dense ORGANZA for interlining; FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
CUTTER'S MUST
If the patterns have a double contour, they include SEAM ALLOWANCES. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Seam allowance for the center back seam (FOR ZIPPER INSERTION) of the garment - 2 cm. Other seams - 1 cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width should be at least 140 cm) to determine how much material you will need.
- From SATIN:
- All corset pieces and bias bindings. (It is recommended to use SATIN for the lining as well.)
- From thin LACE FABRIC:
- All corset pieces
- From dense ORGANZA:
- All main corset pieces except bias bindings.
- From FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
- All corset pieces and bias bindings.
Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the NOTCHES - they must match! Try to observe the GRAIN LINE direction.
- Metal or plastic BONING, 2 cm shorter than the seam length, should be inserted into the bodice seams (for ease of processing).
- ZIPPER in the center back seam.
- Bias bindings should be reinforced with FUSIBLE INTERFACING. Upper binding 1, folded in half and pressed as indicated on the pattern for pressing binding 1, is then stitched into the corset neckline along the back and front.
- Upper binding 2 is pressed and then stitched onto the front and back with an open edge at a distance of 4.5 cm from the neckline. Try to sew it so that the upper binding overlaps the stitching line of the next binding.
- Lower binding 1 and then lower binding 2 are pressed and stitched onto the front and back from the waist down along the lines indicated on the center front piece.
