Wedding Dress with a Layered Asymmetrical Skirt

Pattern #2009
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: LACE FABRIC; SATIN; ORGANZA (preferably two or three shades, e.g., milky and creamy white, and pinkish), THIN TULLE FOR BODICE, ready-made underskirt. Also needed: ZIPPER, HOOKS for the neckline closure, decorative LACE TRIM. For finishing: LACE TRIM 2 cm wide is used as a trim, stitched with a zigzag stitch along the neckline and front panel cutouts and the armholes of the bodice (you will need about 3.5-4 m). This way, the raw edges of the LACE FABRIC on the bodice are covered.

CUTTER'S MUST

If the patterns have a double contour, they include SEAM ALLOWANCES. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Seam allowance for the CENTER BACK SEAM (FOR ZIPPER INSERTION) of the garment - 1 cm. Other seams - 1 cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width should be at least 140 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the NOTCHES - they must match! Try to observe the GRAIN LINE direction.

  • From SATIN:
    • BACK SKIRT LOWER LAYER 4 – 2 pieces
    • FRONT SKIRT LOWER LAYER 4 – 1 piece
  • From THIN TULLE:
    • All BODICE pieces – 3 layers
  • From THIN LACE FABRIC:
    • All BODICE pieces
  • From ORGANZA:
    • All 3 upper layers of the skirt

Sewing Instructions

  1. All FRONT PANEL pieces consist of 3 layers of THIN TULLE (FOR LESS TRANSPARENCY AND DENSITY) and 1 layer of LACE FABRIC.
  2. The upper layers of the skirt on the left side should be hand-gathered into pleats.
  3. ZIPPER in the center back seam.
  4. The skirt consists of 4 separate layers: 3 upper – ORGANZA, 1 lower – SATIN.
  5. As the very bottom layer, attach a ready-made underskirt, pre-cutting an asymmetrical cut-out along the hip line.
  6. In the finished BODICE, attach LACE TRIM along the neckline and armholes.
  7. Cover the seam line connecting the BODICE to the skirt with a belt folded in half. The belt is attached with hand stitches on a mannequin along the side seams.
  8. On the left side of the skirt, secure 2 decorative ORGANZA flowers.
