Draped Front Bridal Corset

Pattern #2011
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: SHANJAN TAFFETA. Also needed: separating ZIPPER, metal or plastic BONING, dense ORGANZA for interlining.

CUTTER'S MUST

If the patterns have a double contour, they include SEAM ALLOWANCES. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Seam allowance for the center back seam (FOR ZIPPER INSERTION) of the garment - 2 cm. Other seams - 1 cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width should be at least 140 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the NOTCHES - they must match! Try to observe the GRAIN LINE direction.

  • From TAFFETA:
    • All CORSET pieces. (It is recommended to use TAFFETA as a lining as well.)
  • From dense ORGANZA:
    • All main upper CORSET pieces except the GATHERED FRONT PANEL piece.
    • DO NOT INTERLINE THE INNER CORSET PIECES - THE "LINING" - WITH DENSE ORGANZA!

Sewing Instructions

  1. All upper CORSET pieces are interlined with dense ORGANZA and stitched along the seams.
  2. Metal or plastic BONING, 2 cm shorter than the seam length, should be inserted into the BODICE seams (for ease of processing).
  3. Zipper in the center back seam.
  4. The gathered front panel piece is gathered along all edges to the size of the UPPER FRONT PANEL piece. The "gathering" is secured with hand blind stitches. Only then is it attached to other CORSET pieces.
  5. The DRAPED STRAPS UNDER THE BUST piece is stitched along the long edge, turned right side out, and secured by hand on a mannequin under the bust and at the back.
