- From main fabric:
- 1. BACK PANEL – 1 QTY
- 2. FRONT PANEL – 1 QTY
- 3. BACK FLOUNCE – 1 QTY
- 4. FRONT FLOUNCE – 1 QTY
- 5. BRIDGE – 1 QTY
Tip: Knit fabric pieces should be sewn with a special elastic stitch or directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker. The hem allowance should be topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity.
Sewing Instructions
- Fold the bridge in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the long edge. Turn the bridge right side out, press, centering the seam, and press in half crosswise.
- Stitch the side seams, press allowances towards the BACK PANEL and overcast.
- Overcast the upper edge, press to the wrong side, place the bridge under the allowance so that the raw edges align, and topstitch, catching the bridge.
- Cut two casings from the main fabric, 3 cm wide and equal to the length of the lower edges of the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL + 2 cm. Press the allowances of the short sides to the wrong side. Press the upper edge of the casing 0.7 cm to the wrong side, place it on the sundress, aligning the lower raw edges of the casing and sundress, and topstitch along the fold.
- Stitch the side seams of the FLOUNCES, press allowances towards the BACK PANEL and overcast.
- Along the upper edge of the FLOUNCE, sew a basting stitch with loosely tensioned stitches and gather. Attach the FLOUNCE to the upper part, press the allowance and overcast.
- Overcast the allowance of the lower edge of the FLOUNCE, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- From BIAS BINDING, create a neckline tie and two ties for the casings.
