Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the plackets, cuffs, upper collar, and inner collar stand.
- Place the upper collar and lower collar right sides together. Stitch the ends and the outer edge of the collar. Trim the seam allowances. Turn the collar right side out, shape, and press. Place the collar stand pieces right sides together, insert the prepared collar between them, align the notches, and stitch, simultaneously stitching the ends of the collar stand. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked line of the collar stand attachment seam. Turn the prepared collar right side out and press.
- Stitch the darts on the back. Press the darts towards the center seam. Stitch the center seam of the back. Overlock the seam and press open. Stitch the bust dart on the left front. Press the dart upwards. On the right front, between the marks along the edge, stitch with loosely tensioned stitches and gather.
- Place the small plackets right sides together and stitch the pieces along the concave edge. Turn the plackets right side out and press. Attach the outer small placket piece to the left front. Press the seam towards the placket. Fold the inner small placket piece inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Attach the outer large placket piece to the right front. Place the large placket pieces right sides together along the outer edge. Insert the left front between the plackets and stitch the pieces. Fold the inner large placket to the wrong side and press. Fold the raw edge of the inner large placket and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Attach the side to the front. Overlock the seam and press towards the back.
- Stitch the shoulder seams and the right side seam. Overlock the seams and press towards the back. Stitch the left side seam from the armhole to the notch. Press the seam open and overlock. Insert the zipper.
- Attach the upper collar stand with the collar to the neckline, fold the raw edge of the lower collar stand, and topstitch into the attachment seam of the upper collar stand. Topstitch along the collar stand and collar.
- Stitch, overlock, and press open the sleeve edges up to the notch. Attach the sleeves, easing the cap.
- Fold the cuffs in half and stitch the short sides and the section up to the notch. Clip the seam allowance near the notch. Turn the cuffs right side out and press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve. Fold the inner side of the cuff and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Overlock the hem of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
- On the cuffs, make buttonholes and sew on buttons. Sew buttons on the front.
