• From FUSIBLE INTERFACING: COLLAR and FRONT PANEL pieces from suiting fabric.

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse the COLLAR and FRONT PANEL pieces from suiting fabric with FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
2. Fold the COLLAR pieces right sides together and stitch along the ends and outer edge, starting and ending the seam strictly at the marked COLLAR attachment seam line. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES at corners, turn the COLLAR right side out, and press.
3. Assembly of leather pieces. Stitch the center back seam of the BACK PANEL. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open and topstitch. Attach the back part of the SLEEVE to the BACK PANEL. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open and topstitch. Attach the front part of the SLEEVE to the FRONT PANEL. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open and topstitch. Stitch the shoulder seams. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open and topstitch.
4. Assembly of fabric pieces. Stitch the center back seam of the BACK PANEL. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Attach the back part of the SLEEVE to the BACK PANEL. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Attach the front part of the SLEEVE to the FRONT PANEL. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Stitch the shoulder seams. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
5. Fold the capes right sides together and stitch the front edge and lapel up to the COLLAR attachment mark. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, trim corners.
6. Insert the COLLAR between the capes. Attach the suiting fabric COLLAR piece to the neckline of the leather cape, and the leather COLLAR piece to the neckline of the suiting fabric cape. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves and press open.
7. Stitch the bottom edge of the garment, leaving an opening unstitched for turning. Turn the cape right side out, baste, and press. Stitch precisely into the COLLAR attachment seam at the neckline.
8. Apply a double topstitch along the front edge, lapel, bottom edge of the garment, and along the ends and outer edge of the COLLAR at 0.2 and 1.0 cm from the edge, simultaneously closing the technical opening.
9. On the right FRONT PANEL, overcast buttonholes and sew on buttons; on the left FRONT PANEL, sew on buttons.
