CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- FRONT PANEL – 2 QTY
- BACK PANEL – 2 QTY
- Hood – 2 QTY
- From fur:
- CUFF - 2 QTY
- Cut a fur TRIM STRIP (or assemble from pieces) for the edging, with the length indicated on the pattern pieces and a width of 11 cm.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the center back seam. Overlock the seam and press it to the left side.
- Stitch the shoulder seams. Overlock the seams and press them towards the BACK PANEL.
- Stitch the hood pieces. Press the seam to the left side. On the wrong side, place a piece of BIAS BINDING over the seam and topstitch it, catching the SEAM ALLOWANCES in the stitch. Attach the hood to the neckline. Clip the seam and press it towards the hood. Topstitch BIAS BINDING over the seam, covering the hood attachment SEAM ALLOWANCES.
- On the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL pieces, clip the seam near the NOTCHES. Place the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL right sides together and stitch the section between the NOTCHES. Overlock the seam and press it. Overlock the seam section from the edge line to the first notch on the FRONT PANEL and the seam section on the BACK PANEL pieces from the center seam to the notch (bottom edge). Fold the overlocked seam section and topstitch.
- Press the CUFF lengthwise in half, right side out. Unfold the CUFF, fold it right sides together and stitch it into a loop. Turn the CUFF right side out, press the seam open. Attach the outer edge of the CUFF to the poncho. Fold the inner edge of the CUFF to the wrong side and topstitch it into the attachment seam.
- Press the fur TRIM STRIP for the edging lengthwise in half, right side out. Attach the outer edge of the fur placket to the edge of the front opening and the hood. Fold the placket to the wrong side and topstitch it into the attachment seam.
- On the wrong side of the poncho, along the placket edge, sew loops and hooks.
