Tech. Description

Cowl Neck Flutter Sleeve Blouse

A hip-length women's blouse with a draped cowl neckline, short flutter sleeves cut as separate front and back panels set into the upper armhole only, and a concealed zip in the left side seam.

When To Wear

  • Spring and summer, worn loose over a skirt or trousers.
  • Office wear under a jacket, or evening wear in silk.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Semi-fitted, slightly shaped at the waist through the side seams.

Length: Hip length, straight hem.

Neckline: Wide cowl neckline draping across the front. The neckline is finished with front and back facings; a folded loop piece is caught into the facing seam.

Sleeves: Flutter sleeves, each made of a front and a back panel with the upper edges turned under and topstitched, so the sleeve is open over the shoulder. They are set into the upper part of the armhole; the lower armhole is finished with a 4 cm bias strip folded in half and edgestitched 0.1 cm from the seam.

Closure: Concealed zip in the left side seam.

Back: One piece, cut without a centre back seam.

Finishing: Hem and sleeve edges overlocked, turned up and topstitched.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. A cowl neckline handled in soft fabric, a concealed side zip, sleeves set into part of the armhole and bias-bound lower armholes.

Fabric Recommendations

Fabrics of natural or blended fibres, for example silk.
