- 8. Back facing – qty 2
- From fusible interfacing: front facing, back facing.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the front facing and back facing.
- Stitch the princess seams on the front. Overlock the seam and press towards the center of the front. Stitch the center seam of the front. Overlock the seam and press to the left side.
- Stitch the princess seams on the back. Overlock the seam and press towards the center of the back.
- Stitch the darts on the front skirt half and back skirt half. Press the darts towards the center.
- Overlock the center seam of the front skirt half. Stitch the center seam up to the pleat. Stitch the vertical seam of the pleat. Press the pleat open to both sides. Secure the pleat depth at the top.
- Attach the front skirt half to the front. Overlock the attaching seam and press towards the front skirt half.
- Attach the back skirt half to the back. Overlock the attaching seam and press towards the back skirt half.
- Overlock the center seam of the back. Stitch the center seam up to the notches for the zipper. Press the center seam of the back open, press the zipper opening. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams of the dress. Overlock the side and shoulder seams. Press the seams towards the back.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the front facing and back facing, press the seams open. Overlock the outer edge of the facings. Place the facing pieces right sides together with the garment and stitch the neckline of the front and back. Stitch the armhole in two steps: first the upper edge of the armhole, then the lower edge of the armhole. Topstitch the seam allowances to the facing at a distance of 0.2 cm from the seam. Turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Attach the center seam of the facing to the zipper allowance.
- Press the bottom edge of the dress to the wrong side, fold, and topstitch.
