Sewing Instructions
- Stitch darts on BACK PANEL pieces. Press darts towards the center.
- Stitch the center back seam of the BACK PANEL. Press the seam to the left side and serge.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the blouse. Serge the side and shoulder seams. Press the side and shoulder seams towards the BACK PANEL.
- Stitch the FLOUNCE pieces in pairs along the short sides. Press seams open. Fold the FLOUNCE pieces in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Along the edge of the pieces, stitch 0.5 cm from the edge with loosely tensioned stitches. Gather the FLOUNCE pieces to match the length of the neckline edge of the BACK PANEL and the front edges, distributing the gathers evenly along the entire length.
- Cut out loop fasteners. To do this, cut a bias strip of fabric 2 – 3 cm wide. Fold it in half lengthwise, right side in. Stitch along the fold with a seam allowance of 0.3 – 0.4 cm. At the end, increase the seam allowance to 0.5 – 0.7 cm. Trim the seam allowance to 0.3 – 0.6 cm. Turn the cord right side out using a needle with a thick thread. The cord should be firm along its entire length. Cut the cord into 6 pieces, 5 cm each.
- Mark the positions of the loops along the front edge: 1.5 cm below the neckline, 1.5 cm above the bottom edge, and in the middle between them. Baste the FLOUNCE to the FRONT PANEL. Fold the cord pieces in half and place them on the FLOUNCE according to the markings on the FRONT PANEL, right side of the piece, aligning the edges. Secure the ends with machine stitching.
- Attach two FLOUNCES to the front edge and the neckline of the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL. Finish the attachment seam with BIAS BINDING.
- Clip the armhole at the NOTCHES. Fold the BIAS BINDING right sides together with the lower part of the armhole and stitch. Press the binding to the wrong side, forming a small edge from the armhole. Topstitch the fold of the binding onto the armhole with a 0.1 cm seam.
- Press the SLEEVE hem allowance to the wrong side, fold, and topstitch. Set the SLEEVE into the upper part of the armhole. Serge the seam.
- Serge the bottom of the garment with a tight rolled hem.
- Cut a tie of desired length and 4 cm wide. Press the tie in half lengthwise, right side out. Then unfold and press the raw edges towards the marked center line. Fold the tie along the center line, aligning the folds, and topstitch at 0.1 cm. Thread the tie through the loop fasteners.
