CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
  • 1. BACK PANEL – 2 QTY
  • 2. BACK PANEL FACING – 2 QTY
  • 3. TRIM STRIP – 2 QTY
  • 4. FRONT PANEL – 2 QTY
  • 5. FRONT PANEL FACING – 4 QTY
  • 6. SLEEVE – 2 QTY
  • 7. CUFF – 2 QTY

Sewing Instructions

  1. Reinforce the CUFF, TRIM STRIP, BACK PANEL neckline FACING, and FRONT PANEL neckline FACING with FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
  2. Attach the TRIM STRIP to the FRONT PANEL. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCE open. Overlock the outer edge of the TRIM STRIP and press it to the wrong side. Topstitch the TRIM STRIP.
  3. Stitch the shoulder and side SEAM ALLOWANCES of the blouse. Overlock the side and shoulder SEAM ALLOWANCES. Press the side and shoulder SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL.
  4. Stitch the shoulder SEAM ALLOWANCES of the FRONT PANEL FACING and BACK PANEL FACING. Press the shoulder SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
  5. Along the upper edge of the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL, stitch 0.5 cm from the edge with loosely tensioned stitches. Gather the upper edge of the piece to match the length of the neckline FACING edge of the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL, distributing the gathers evenly along the entire length.
  6. Overlock the outer edge of the lower FACING. Place the FACING pieces right sides together and stitch. Trim the SEAM ALLOWANCES at the corners, turn the FACINGS right side out, and press.
  7. Attach the upper FACING to the blouse neckline. Topstitch the lower FACING into the SEAM ALLOWANCE of the upper FACING attachment.
  8. Fold the CUFF in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, and press. Unfold the CUFF and stitch the side SEAM ALLOWANCES of the CUFF. Press the CUFF side SEAM ALLOWANCE open.
  9. Along the lower edge of the SLEEVE, stitch 0.5 cm from the edge with loosely tensioned stitches. Gather the lower edge of the piece to match the length of the CUFF edge, distributing the gathers evenly along the entire length.
  10. Stitch and overlock the SLEEVE edge. Press the SLEEVE SEAM ALLOWANCE. Attach the CUFF to the lower edge of the SLEEVE. Overlock the CUFF attachment SEAM ALLOWANCE.
  11. Set in the SLEEVES, easing at the cap.
  12. Overlock the hem SEAM ALLOWANCES of the garment, turn to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  13. On the right FRONT PANEL, make buttonholes; on the left FRONT PANEL, sew on buttons.
