FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING: upper collar.

Cutting Plan

  • From main fabric:
  • 1. Right Front Bodice – 1 piece
  • 2. Left Front Bodice – 1 piece
  • 3. Back – 2 pieces
  • 4. Side Back Panel – 2 pieces
  • 5. Collar – 2 pieces
  • 6. Belt – 2 pieces
  • 7. Back Sleeve Part – 2 pieces
  • 8. Front Sleeve Part – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse the upper collar.
  2. Mark and stitch the dart on the left and right front bodices. Trim the dart bulk and serge/overlock the raw edge.
  3. Stitch the princess seams on the back. Serge/overlock the princess seams and press them towards the center.
  4. Serge/overlock the side edges of the blouse. Stitch and press open the side seams of the blouse, leaving an opening in the left seam. Topstitch along the opening in the side seam. Stitch, serge/overlock, and press the shoulder seams towards the back.
  5. Fold the collar pieces. Stitch the lower collar to the upper collar, trim seam allowances at the corners, and turn the collar right side out. Press the collar.
  6. Attach the belt to the right and left front bodices. Serge/overlock the seam.
  7. Fold the bias tape in half lengthwise and press. Bind the following edges with bias tape: the neckline of the front bodice, the belt, the bottom edge of the front bodice and back, the lower edge of the back sleeve part and the shaped tie on the sleeve, the lower edge of the front sleeve part and the shaped tie.
  8. Stitch and serge/overlock the sleeve seams. Press the sleeve seams.
  9. Set the upper collar into the neckline, turn under the raw edge of the lower collar, and stitch in the ditch of the attachment seam.
  10. Set in the sleeves, easing the sleeve cap. Serge/overlock the sleeve insertion seam.
