Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the front facing and back neck facing.
  2. Along the upper edge of the front bodice, stitch with loose gathering stitches 0.5 cm from the edge and gather.
  3. On the back bodice, create a box pleat and topstitch the inner and outer folds of the pleat 0.1 cm from the edge. Secure along the upper edge with a horizontal stitch 0.5 cm from the edge.
  4. Attach yokes to the front and back bodices. Finish the seam allowance.
  5. Stitch and finish the shoulder seams of the front facing and back neck facing. Finish the outer edge of the front facing and back neck facing.
  6. Place the front facing right side down onto the right side of the front bodice, pin, and stitch along the front edge. Stitching is done from the front bodice side. Attach the lower edges of the front facings to the front bodice strictly along the marked hemline. Trim the seams of the lower front corners. Understitch the seam allowance of the front edge to the front facing. The stitching is placed 0.2 cm from the seam. Turn the front edges right side out, straighten the seams, and press.
  7. Stitch and finish the side and shoulder seams. Press seams towards the back.
  8. Finish the blouse neckline with the back neck facing and front facings. Understitch the neckline seam allowance to the facing 0.2 cm from the seam. Turn the facing right side out and press. Secure the front facings at the shoulder seams.
  9. Stitch and finish the sleeve seam. Along the sleeve cap (from mark to mark) and the sleeve hem (from mark to mark), stitch with loose gathering stitches and gather the sleeve cap and sleeve hem. Gather the sleeve hem (gathered length equals cuff length). Set sleeves into armholes and finish the seam.
  10. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise and press. Unfold the cuff and stitch into a loop. Attach the upper part of the cuff to the sleeve hem. For a snugger fit, attach elastic to the cuff at the indicated marks. Fold under the lower part of the cuff and stitch in the ditch of the upper cuff attachment seam.
  11. Finish the lower edge of the blouse, fold under, and topstitch.
  12. On the right front bodice, mark buttonhole positions and make buttonholes. Sew buttons onto the left front bodice.
