Cutting Plan
From main fabric:
- 1. Front Bodice - 1 piece
- 2. Back Bodice - 1 piece
- 3. Front Yoke - 1 piece
- 4. Back Yoke - 1 piece
- 5. Pocket – 2 pieces
- 6. Strap – 4 pieces
- 7. Back Facing – 1 piece
- 8. Front Facing – 1 piece
Fabric & Materials
From fusible interfacing: front facing, back facing, straps.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the front facing, back facing, and straps.
- Overcast the pocket edges and press according to the pattern piece. Fold the pocket opening allowance to the wrong side and topstitch 2.5 cm from the edge. Mark the pocket placement. Place the pocket on the front bodice and topstitch according to the markings.
- Overcast the side seams. Stitch the side seams up to the slit mark. Along the slit, topstitch 0.2 cm from the edge. Overcast the armhole edge.
- Stitch gathering stitches along the upper edge of the front and back bodices. Gather evenly along the entire length.
- Fold the straps right sides together and stitch along three sides. Turn the straps right side out, trimming the corners. Press the straps. Attach the straps to the shoulder edges of the back yoke with the diagonal edges of the straps.
- Attach the yoke to the back bodice. Press the attachment seam towards the yoke. Place the facing on the back yoke and stitch the armhole edge, shoulder edge, and back neckline edge. Turn the back facing to the wrong side. Fold under the seam allowance of the back facing and topstitch in the yoke attachment seam. Turn under the seam allowances of the lower armhole section to the wrong side.
- The processing of the front yoke is similar.
- Overcast the hem allowance. Turn to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Topstitch along the entire armhole and back neckline 0.5 cm from the edge. Mark and sew buttons on the front yoke, and attach buckles to the straps.
