Cutting Plan
- 1. Center back piece – 1 piece
- 2. Side back piece – 2 pieces
- 3. Center front piece – 2 pieces
- 4. Side front piece – 2 pieces
- 5. Hood piece – 2 pieces
- 6. Center hood piece – 1 piece
- 7. Sleeve piece – 2 pieces
- 8. Front facing – 2 pieces
- 9. Back neck facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the front facings and back neck facing.
- Stitch and serge the princess seams on the front. Press princess seams towards the center front. Stitch and serge the princess seams on the back. Press princess seams towards the center back.
- Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the back neck facing and front facings. Serge the inner edges of the back neck facing and front facings.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams. Serge the shoulder and side seams. Press shoulder and side seams towards the back.
- Attach the side hood pieces to the center hood piece and serge the seams. Mark and overcast the eyelets on the hood. Fold the outer allowance of the hood to the wrong side, fold again and topstitch onto the hood.
- Set in the hood to the neckline. Finish the neckline with the back neck facing and front facings. Finish the front edges with the front facings, trim excess fabric at the corners and turn the front facings right side out. Press the front edges. Secure the back neck facing and front facings with a tack stitch at the shoulder seam.
- Stitch the sleeve seams. Serge and press towards the back of the sleeve. Set in the sleeves, easing at the cap. Serge the armhole seam.
- Serge, fold, and topstitch the garment hem. Serge, fold, and topstitch the sleeve hem.
- Mark the buttonhole positions. On the right front, overcast the buttonholes, and sew buttons onto the left front.
- Thread the cord through the eyelets on the hood and attach cord ends.
