Cutting Plan
- From main fabric:
- 1. Front Bodice – 2 pieces
- 2. Cuff – 2 pieces
- 3. Front Neckline Facing – 1 piece
- 4. Back Neckline Facing – 2 pieces
- 5. Waistband – 2 pieces
- 6. Back Bodice – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse with fusible interfacing: cuff, front and back neckline facing.
- Overlock the center front and back edges. Stitch and press open the center front seam. Stitch the center back seam up to the notch for the zipper. Press open the center back seam, press the zipper opening allowances.
- Overlock and stitch the blouse side seams and the lower sleeve edge, leaving a slit in the left side seam and slits in the lower sleeve seam. Press open the side seams, press the slits. Stitch and overlock the blouse shoulder seams and the upper sleeve edge. Press the shoulder seams towards the back.
- Stitch and press open the shoulder edges of the facings. Overlock the outer edge of the facings. Insert the zipper into the center back seam. Face the front and back neckline edge with the facing. Fold under the center back edge of the facing and stitch it to the zipper. Topstitch the seam allowance of the front and back neckline facing 0.2 cm from the seam onto the facing.
- Fold the waistband pieces and stitch the waistband side seam. Press open the waistband side seam. Overlock the inner edge of the waistband. Press the waistband in half lengthwise, wrong sides together.
- Run a basting stitch with loose tension along the lower edge of the blouse at 0.5 cm. Gather the lower edge of the blouse to the required size.
- Topstitch along the slit in the left side seam at 0.5 cm. Attach the waistband to the lower edge of the blouse. Finish the ends of the waistband. Trim excess allowances, turn the waistband ends right side out. Press the waistband and topstitch into the waistband attachment seam.
- Overlock the inner edge of the cuff. Finish the corners of the cuff. Trim excess fabric in the corners. Trim excess cuff allowances. Turn the cuff right side out and press.
- Run a basting stitch with loose tension along the lower edge of the sleeve and gather. Attach the lower cuff to the lower edge of the sleeve. Topstitch the cuff into the cuff attachment seam. Make buttonholes on the cuff and sew on buttons.
Tip: if desired, you can finish the waistband separately according to the design drawing.
