A sleeveless women's A-line dress above the knee, with a scoop neckline, a deep U-shaped low back and satin ribbons topstitched along the seams and across the front, finished with two tied bows at the centre front. Invisible zip in the centre back seam.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Fitted bodice with bust darts in the front yoke, joined to an A-line skirt.

Length: Above the knee; hem overlocked, turned up and topstitched 1.5 cm from the edge.

Neckline: Scoop neckline at the front; deep U-shaped low back. Neckline, armholes and back opening are overlocked, turned to the inside and topstitched 0.5 cm from the edge.

Sleeves: Sleeveless, with wide shoulder straps; shoulder seam position is checked at a fitting.

Front: Front yoke with bust darts, a middle front section and a one-piece front skirt. Satin ribbon runs across the middle front under the bust, over the seam joining the bodice to the skirt, and diagonally from the centre front down to the side seams; two ribbon bows are tied at the centre.

Back: Upper back and back skirt in two halves with a centre back seam and an invisible zip. One ribbon runs across the lower edge of the low back, a second covers the seam between the upper back and the back skirt.

Finishing: Seams overlocked; side and shoulder seams pressed towards the back.

Level Of Difficulty

Beginner. Straight seams, bust darts, an invisible zip and turned-and-topstitched edges; the ribbon trim needs careful placement and even topstitching.
